The twitter account of Delhi Traffic Police was hacked for nearly 10 minutes on Tuesday late night by some unknown person, police said on Thursday. However, the police changed the password immediately and initiated a probe in the matter. The incident took place at around 11.30 pm and some messages such as 'Message me at twitter.com/justinformentin if you'd like to know how to fix this! (sic)' were posted on the handle.

However, the police official said it was not hacked; someone attempted to hack the handle. It was hacked for few minutes and has been restored as soon officials got a hint.

“Not a Traffic Alert. Justin Forementin is tweeting on the Delhi Traffic Police Twitter. Hey guys! (sic),” read the other message posted on the Delhi traffic Police twitter handle.

Such incidents of hacking were also happened earlier for at least two- three times, said an official.

“This is not the first time that such incident took place. Earlier also for two- three times some people have tried to change the password and hack the account. So, this time we have send the report to the Cyber cell for a investigating the matter and also to provide techniques to strengthen the password as well tracking of the person if he/she try to hack the handle,” said the official from the Traffic unit.
