External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's two-day visit to Bahrain, starting Saturday, will provide an opportunity to cement bilateral ties and identify new areas of cooperation, the External Affairs Ministry said today.
The joint commission meeting would cover a range of issues, including those related to the political, economic, security and cultural ties of the two countries. The first meeting of the High Joint Commission (HJC) was held here in February, 2015.
Swaraj will inaugurate the new Chancery-cum-Residential complex on the first day of her visit, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.
She will address the members of the Indian community living in Bahrain in the evening and the next day, she will hold a series of meetings with the political leadership of that country, Kumar added.
Swaraj's visit will not only provide an opportunity to cement ties, but will also help identify new areas of cooperation, he said, adding that two-three agreements were expected to be signed during her visit.
