Mysuru: A jeweller from Periyapatna taluk has gone missing after sending a WhatsApp video to his wife saying that he is going to commit suicide.
Sukha Lal aka Suresh, a resident of Ravandhuru village in the taluk, owns a jewellery shop and lives with his wife Sunitha and three children – Aishwarya, 10, Anusha, 9, Rashi, 6, and one-year-old Mukesh.

On July 7 at around 8 am, Sukha Lal left home with his three children to drop them to school. He had told his wife that he will be going to the court in Mysuru. He called her to inform her that he had reached Mysuru and will return in the evening.

When Sukha Lal did not return home in the evening, his worried wife called him. The jeweller did not receive her calls, said police. On July 8 at around 4 pm, he sent a video clip through WhatsApp to his wife stating that he is going to commit suicide and she should not try to search for him.

In the video, Sukha Lal claims that two persons named Swamy and Master have cheated him of Rs 11 lakh. The duo had purchased a godown owned by him but paid him only Rs 1 lakh and failed to pay the remaining amount as per the agreement. Upset at being cheated, he decided to take the extreme step, said Sukha Lal in the video clip.

A shocked Sunitha rushed to the Periyapatna police station to file a complaint. Police are trying to track Sukha Lal’s cellphone to trace him.
