NEW DELHI: The bulls had a field day on the Street on Thursday as
Sensex hit an all-time high and
Nifty reclaimed the psychological mark of 11,000.
At the
closing bell, the 30-share BSE index despite shedding some of the intra-day gains, managed to finish at a closing high of 36,548.41, up 282.48 points. The broader 50-share NSE Nifty closed at 11,023.20, up 0.70 per cent.
Earlier, Sensex breached the previous peak of 36,443 and went up to hit an intra-day high of 36,699.53. Nifty too had gone up till 11,078.
The markets have been upbeat since the turn of this week due to a number of factors, helping the investors reap a bounty.

Among sectors, financial services and PSU Bank sub-indices gained a per cent each while Nifty Auto shed a per cent.
Reliance,
Wipro, HDFC and Larsen & Toubro were the major gainers.
