Man in 70s taken to hospital after crash blocks road

A man in his 70s was taken to Canberra Hospital with multiple injuries after a two-vehicle crash that blocked Kingsford Smith Drive in both directions.

The crash happened at the intersection of Kingsford Smith Drive and Findlay Street, in Higgins, shortly before 6pm on Wednesday.

An Emergency Services Agency spokeswoman said the man was the only person taken to hospital after the crash, and was in a stable condition.

Diversions were in place for more than an hour after the crash.
