Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness Got 2 Emmy Nods, and His Reaction Will Make You Cry

Jonathan Van Ness seems to make every day a happy occasion but today is an extra level of "CAN YOU BELIEVE?!" because the Queer Eye star saw both of his 2017 TV shows nominated for Emmy Awards on Thursday morning.

Van Ness and the rest of the Fab 5 -- Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski, Bobby Berk and Tan France -- earned a well-deserved nomination in the Structured Reality Series category, but Van Ness is also being honored for executive-producing Gay of Thrones, Funny or Die's hilarious recap series for the HBO epic Game of Thrones. Gay of Thrones is nominated in the Short Form Variety Series for the second time after its first nod in 2016.

Van Ness posted a video taken in the Netflix offices of him reacting to the double good news and immediately being grouped-hugged by the rest of the Fab 5 and the Queer Eye crew.

He was still in tears when TV Guide hopped on the phone to talk to Van Ness a short while later.

"It feels really surreal! When Gay of Thrones got nominated the first time, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know that was an Emmy category," he said. "This time, knowing what an honor it is and the experience and to have Queer Eye this year too -- I worked on two TV shows last year, and they both got nominated for Emmys! It's insane! It's amazing!"

Van Ness said he's proud to represent the LGBTQ community at the award show.

"[It means so much], just the visibility of people who look different and act different, to see people like that celebrated. To see in Queer Eye, a diverse cast of people celebrated, not only through the five of us but the eight people that we had the honor to work with in the first season -- it's amazing. We are just so honored and blown away."

The 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air Monday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.
