When the writ of quo warranto petition by Manohara Justus came up for hearing, Justice R Sureshkumar posted it to July 17 to decide on its maintainability.

The petitioner contended that Baskar did not have the eligibility to occupy the post of as he had worked as only for seven years while the UGC rules prescribed 10 years experience.
