Yesterday the KTO announced that 92 percent of the participants at the program said that they were quite happy with the tours.

Participants gave the program a grade of 4.6 out of 5 points. After it started off on May 8, organizers have witnessed a total of 314 overseas patients and their companions take part in the program till now.

Patients from northern Eurasia with their significant others had a particularly high participation rate, with those from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan accounting for 83 percent of all participants.

Of the program participants, 46 percent got treatment from a medical facility in Seoul.
In 2017, few international patients and their companions participated in tourism activities apart from the time they spent for their medical diagnosis and treatment.

In last year, only 45.9 percent of the 320,000 foreign patients who visited Korea with 2.4 travel companions (on average) for medical reasons took part in tourism activities during their stay.

In 2018, nevertheless, the KTO arranged the tour program with medical visits to heighten the satisfaction of the patients and their companions as they make the most of world-class medical services.

The tours, to be operated until December 14, will permit patients to visit the main cultural and historical sites like Changdeok Palace, Insa-dong and the Tongin Market as part of the general tour.

Besides, a customized one-day tour will simultaneously be offered for groups made up of at least five individuals per medical clinic.
