Himachal, Pb police launch joint operation to curb drug menace

The and police today launched a special drive to crackdown on drugs in the hill-state's district that borders Punjab, a said.

SSP informed that the joint operation was being conducted with the active assistance of within the jurisdiction of and Indora to nab drug traffickers.

Checking hotels, restaurants and guest houses situated in the area of Nurpur, Kandwal, Indora, Damtal and Dhangupeer is being carried out and is going on, said Patial.

A meeting with SSP Pathankot is being convened in Dharamshala tomorrow to chalk out a strategy to eradicate the menace of drugs, he added.

Patial also appreciated the efforts of Sunil Jain, PNB Dharamshala, for installing CCTV cameras at public places in the towns of Ballah, Kotla, Dhaliyara, Rehan, and in the district.

Such kind of support rendered by National Bank will help the police in preventing and detecting offences as well as ensuring better traffic regulation in the area, said Patial.
