Fire broke out in a ground plus two-storey building in south Mumbai’s Fort area on Thursday morning. No injuries have been reported so far.

The fire started around 11.15am owing to a short circuit on the first floor of an old office building, Sant Niwas, on Goa Street.

Two fire engines were sent to the spot immediately, and the fire was doused by 11.50am.

A senior official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) disaster management cell said they suspect the fire started in an air-conditioning duct.
