First Sketches of the Future All-Electric MINI

The first 100% electric MINI will debut in 2019 By ,

MINI has published two images previewing design elements of its future all-electric model, the first 100% electric car to be produced by the British brand.

The sketches show design elements and so tell us nothing about the form of the model to come. One of them reveals the front grille, while the other shows us what the wheels will look like. From them we can deduce what the exterior and interior colour schemes of the upcoming 100% electric MINI might sport.

“MINI is an urban brand and the fully-electric MINI the logical next step into the future. These initial sketches for the fully electrified MINI outline our vision of authentic design creating a bridge between the history of the brand and its electric future.”

- Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design

The images were released in conjunction with the Goodwood Festival of Speed currently taking place in England. In fact visitors to the event can check out the MINI Electric Concept, which will serve as the base from which the eventual production model is derived. That prototype was first unveiled in Frankfurt in 2017.
