CM’s intervention to bring back 15 labourers from UAE

On the initiative of CM Raghubar Das hurdles in the return of 15 labourers of Jharkhand, who are stuck in UAE have been cleared. Principal Secretary to CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal said that Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs MC Luther has directed the Careerline Agency in Mumbai to ensure safe return of the labourers.

The labourers had gone to UAE through Careerline Agency based in Mumbai and had complained from there that they have not been given salary for the last eight months and are being harassed there. State Cabinet Minister CP Chaudhary had written to CM Raghubar Das to take steps for return of the labourers.

On the instructions of the CM the MEA has taken action. Barnwal said that there are 25 other labourers in UAE, whose records of being sent to UAE is not with the Government. The Indian Embassy at Dubai has been requested to get information about them and work on bringing them back to the country.

The 15 labourers, who would be brought back to Jharkhand include Dhaneshwar mahto, Basant Mahto, Sahdeo Mahto, Tinku Mahto, Surendra Mahto, Mahendra Mahto, Rameshwar Mahto, Babulal Mahto, Dulalchand Mahto, Indradeo Mahto, Mithilesh Mahto, Jaglal Mahto, Bhola Mahto and Baleshwar Mahto.

The CM has requested people of the State to get employment from registered agencies only. He said that there are plenty of employment opportunities being generated in Jharkhand itself so that the people will not have to go out.
