Mumbai: A constable was attacked by two members of Suresh Pujari gang on Monday at the 37th Metropolitan court while he was escorting the goons for remand. According to the police, they sprinkled chilly chutney powder on the police escort team and later punched one of the constables in a bid to escape.
The incident occurred on Monday at 1:30 p.m. The two accused Ali Abbas Khan (40) and Raj Chauhan (43) flung chilli powder on police escort team attached to the Local Arms Division. When their handcuffs were taken off in the court, Khan removed chilli powder from his pocket and flung it on the police escorts. When half a dozen constables on duty including SS Nege chased the two accused, Chauhan punched him on the left eye. The accused were nabbed and handed over to Azad Maidan police. -Staff Reporter
