ROHTAK: Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday termed the BJP government's claims on recommendations being implemented according to the M S Swaminathan report related to farmers as 'bogus' and far away from the real promise made by the party before the polls.

Addressing a press conference at his residence, Hooda said it looks tragic to see a state minister dancing on road by claiming that they had fulfilled their promise in accordance with the Swaminathan Commission report and then hold big events to spread the white lie. Claiming that the previous Congress government under his regime had suggested farmers' reform on C-2 formula was far better than the one suggested by the ruling saffron government recently. "Our recommendation resulted in giving 62% profit to farmers while the BJP formula gave benefits up to 17%, which is far less than what Swaminthan report recommends," Hooda said.

He said Swaminathan himself has expressed dissatisfaction over the implementation of his recommendations by the BJP government. He said the Congress still stood on its promise to implement the Swaminathan Commission report properly.

On some new names having association with the Congress figuring in the CBI report in the arson case of finance minister Capt Abhimanyu, Hooda said the Prakash Singh committee had already exposed the BJP for their alleged role during the 2016 Jat stir. "If the government is honest in bringing the culprits to justice, then why did it hid a section of the report raising finger at the government itself," he claimed.
