Lawyer Ashutosh Kanungo passes away

Noted lawyer and social worker Ashutosh Kanungo passed away following prolonged illness. He was 47.

Kanungo, who was undergoing treatment for the last couple of months, breathed his last at his residence at Bangali Sahi in Cuttack on July 1. His wife Asha and daughters Shraddha and Sweta were present at the time of his demise.

Members of the legal fraternity in Cuttack as well as Bhubaneswar have mourned the demise of Kanungo, who had started his career in the profession in 1994. Known for his versatility, he had been working as a Government lawyer since last year.

Kanungo was the secretary of the Board of Revenue Bar Association for three terms and vice-president once. Kanungo, who had been honoured by a host of organisations, was also known for his active involvement in social service.
