Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has announced sanctioning of ₹ 10 crore for the infrastructure development in the district headquarters. Similarly, ₹ 4 crore for modern abattoir and ₹ 1.5 crore for model Vaikuntha Dhamam were also sanctioned. According to Mr. Harish Rao that the amount was sanctioned as loan by Telangana State Urban Finance Infrastructure Development Corporation and this would be used for the building flood flow canals and drains in Siddipet.
He said that the amount sanctioned for abattoir would be useful to create a cluster of chicken and mutton shops thereby keeping the town clean and neat.
Mr. Harish Rao directed the officials to establish an industrial park in about 500 acres within 15 kilometres from the district headquarters. In a review meeting held at Hyderabad on Tuesday, Mr Harish Rao has directed the Collector to cooperate with the TSIIC in acquiring the required land for this purpose. He said that a Singapore-based company has came forward to establish a food industry in about 46 acres with an estimated investment of ₹ 250 crore.
