Bhopal: Heavy rain forecast for many places in Madhya Pradesh


Bhopal: Heavy rain has been predicated for many places including Ratlam, Khargone, Vidisha, Dewas, Khandwa, Hoshangabad, Betul, Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain in MP. On the other hand, parts of North MP, places like Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Nowgong, and Tikamgarh may experience comparatively lesser intensity rain. However, the good news is that these heavy rains would benefit the Rabi crop sown in many parts of the state.

The state has been receiving good rains ever since the arrival of Southwest Monsoon over the state. July that has proved to be much more constructive in terms of rains, wherein on and off rains have been occurring over the state for quite a long time. Many places recorded moderate Monsoon rains.

On Tuesday, Nowgaon recorded 38mm rainfall while Sagar recorded 33mm rainfall and Guna recorded32mm rainfall. Similarly, Sidhi recorded 30mm rainfall and  Khandwa recorded 21mm rainfall and  Rewa recorded 13mm rainfall. Bhopal recorded 6.8mm rainfall.


According to meteorological department, the axis of monsoon trough is running via MP. In addition to this, a cyclonic circulation is also seen over Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh up to mid-levels. This circulation would gradually lead to an increase in the rain intensity over East MP.

Another cyclonic circulation marked over South Gujarat would also enhance the rain activities over West MP. Therefore, many parts of South MP would start receiving moderate to heavy showers for the next two to three days.
