Thundershowers are expected for Cape Town and surrounding areas as a cold front heads inland on Thursday.
Warning
Extremely high fire danger conditions can be expected in places over the central interior of the Northern Cape, the western and central interior of the Eastern Cape and the Central Karoo of the Western Cape.
High seas with wave heights of 6m to 7m are expected between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas during the course of Thursday afternoon spreading to Plettenberg Bay during the evening and subsiding on Friday.
Rain
Thundershowers are expected for the south-western parts of the Western Cape including Cape Town and Worcester, with scattered showers expected for the rest of the Western Cape and south-western parts of the Northern Cape as a cold front heads inland.
The rest of the country remains dry.
Temperatures
Minimum temperatures will be cool across the country with cold conditions expected over the Free State region.
The coldest place will be Sutherland in the Northern Cape, dropping to a low of 0°C.
Maximum temperatures remain cool throughout most of the country with cold weather expected for Cape Town and surrounding areas. Warm weather is expected for most parts of the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and the central interior of the Northern Cape.
The hottest places will be Port Elizabeth and East London in the Eastern Cape, with a high of 30°C.

Pretoria and Bloemfontein are expected to reach a high of 22°C, while Johannesburg is expected to reach 20°C.
Along the coastal regions, Cape Town will reach 15°C, while Durban will reach a maximum of 27°C.
