Over 12 injured in bus accident near Vidya Sagar School

More than a dozen passengers were injured after a bus turned upside down near Vidya Sagar School under Berasia police station area in the morning on Tuesday.

The bus bearing registration number MP04P0110 turned turtle in a bid to save a cow which suddenly appeared on road in the morning.

SHO Berasia police HC Ladiya said that the accident happened at around 8.30 am when the bus driver tried to save hitting cattle but failed.

The driver escaped the spot leaving the bus. The passengers escaped with injuries. Except one passenger who was referred to Bhopal all others were discharged after providing primary treatment, he added.

SHO Ladiya said that at the time of the accident around 15 passengers were present in the bus.

The locals rushed to rescue of the passengers after hearing their screaming when the bus met accident. The passengers were taken to nearby hospital.

The driver lost control after a cow appeared on road and to save the cow the driver tried to steer the bus safely but failed and the bus turned turtle after hitting the cow. The bus operated by Bhargava travels was on its way to Lateri.

At the time of the incident no other vehicle was near the bus which could have lead to major damage and loss of life in the accident.

After the preliminary investigation the police have registered case of rash driving against the errant driver and started further investigation. The bus driver is yet to be arrested and search has been started.
