The effort is part of the continued commitment of Alibaba to Malaysia, its first eWTP hub outside China, and targets to lure Chinese customers to buy all-things ‘Malaysia’ via its online marketplaces.
Over 50 Malaysian brands will take part in the campaign and will be featured on Tmall at the time of the week-long promotion.
Also, Chinese travelers can access special promotions on travel and tourism products and services in Malaysia on Alitrip this Malaysia Week.
Over 30 Malaysian Tourism merchants will arrange special offers on the Alitrip platform related to local travel products and services in Malaysia, comprising tour and hotel packages, local attractions and events, as well as shopping and dining vouchers.
The ‘Malaysia Week’ plan joins online and offline activities specially designed to endorse and boost up opportunities for Malaysian businesses to reach Chinese consumers, and their rising demand for high quality foreign products.
“For the past year, Alibaba worked with the Malaysian government and local business community to develop and improve the cross-border trade infrastructure in Malaysia. Through innovations in logistics, payment, customs clearance and big data, Malaysian small businesses can now enjoy the convenience of global e-commerce trading which in the past, was only available to big multinational corporations. By making globalisation more inclusive, small businesses and young people will benefit tremendously in the near future,” said Tmall president Jet Jing.
“Malaysia week marks our commitment to continue to showcase the best of Malaysia’s fresh, high-quality products and must-visit tourism attractions to Chinese consumers.”
