Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, informed in a press conference on the TAT Marketing Action Plan 2019 that these will be the crucial challenges in 2019, as TAT is all set to better balance the financial value of inbound visitor arrivals with the socio-cultural and environmental effects of tourism growth.

He explained that arrivals in terms of inbound tourism would need to be maintained along with close monitoring, so that the strategies can be adjusted in line with economic trends.

Thailand will target more on short-haul markets to counterbalance the risk, aim more closely on specific customer segments along with monitoring behavioral changes and demand trends. Also, it requires utilizing digital technologies, particularly the opportunities presented by Big Data, to maintain its market leadership.
