This Exoplanet Just 11 Light-years Away From Earth Could Support Life

In an exciting discovery, scientists believe an exoplanet named Ross 128 b has the potential to be habitable. ????Published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters, researchers have found several characteristics that make the planet possible life supporting. ????They analysed the planets star Ross 128, which is a red dwarf star, and measured the abundance of certain chemicals. ????And they found that Ross 128 has similar iron levels to our sun, while the ratios of iron to magnesium in the star suppose that Ross 128 b’s core is probably larger than Earth’s. ????Researchers were then able to measure a range for the planets radius estimate that the planet should be rocky like earth and not composed of gas. ????Knowing the radius also enabled the team to figure out that the planet is in the “Goldilocks Zone” or habitable region where liquid water can exist on the surface. ????Which of course, would be a really good start to getting life started on another planet. ??
