In order to generate awareness among masses regarding preventive measures to curb mosquito breeding, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) flagged off 104 “auto- tippers” equipped with 'public address' system to disseminate message of preventive steps to check the diseases.

SDMC Commissioner Puneet Kumar Goel said that creating awareness regarding preventive measures is one of the main components of prevention and control. The tippers will bring awareness while roaming in different localities.

A senior SDMC official said that the student would be distributed “dengue home work cards” that would be monitored by teachers.  “The painting and quiz competitions may be organised in school to bring awareness on prevention,” he said.

The total number of people hit by Malaria has reached to 90 this year, according to a data released by the SDMC. The total number of dengue cases has also reached to 58. The trend reflects that malaria continues to spread faster than dengue in the national Capital.
