GURUGRAM: Traffic police stopped the NHAI’s installation of sound barriers at the Maharana Pratap Chowk flyover on Wednesday.
Cops say that permission was not taken for this installation, a claim which NHAI contractor refutes. Jai Singh, traffic ACP West said, “Our cops noticed that the labourers didn’t have any safety measures. They hadn’t informed us of what they were doing. They need to tell us, as for the sound barrier work one lane would need to be closed as precautionary measure.”

NHAI consultant wrote a letter to Ashok Sharma, project director, stating: “Traffic inspector Rajesh Kumar was on duty and he was duly informed about what was being done. Since morning, traffic police did not allow the work to progress. ”
