The CBI today charge sheeted Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar for the alleged rape of a minor girl in Unnao at his residence on the 4th of June last year.

In the charge sheet filed in a special CBI court in Lucknow, Sengar and his associate Sashi Singh have been charged with criminal conspiracy and other offences under IPC, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) which relates to rape of minors. Both the accused are under judicial custody. Sengar, a four-time MLA who represents Bangermau in UP legislative assembly, was arrested on the 13th of April.

The charge sheet has been filed three months after the CBI was handed over the probe in the alleged rape of the girl who was lured at the residence of the politician with the promise of job.

During investigation, all the accused including in FIR and two more accused were arrested. They are presently in judicial custody.
