Coimbatore: Trains between Coimbatore and Chennai and those to Salem will be delayed over the next two days by more than an hour due to track strengthening work at the Tirupur yard. Southern Railways will remove damaged and crushed gravel under the tracks, filter out sand and place gravel back under the tracks.
According to railway authorities, train 66602/66603 Coimbatore –Salem- Coimbatore is cancelled fully on July 13 and 14.
On July 13, train 12676 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Kovai Express scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 2.55pm is rescheduled to leave only at 4.35pm.
Train 12244 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Shatabdi Express scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 3.25pm is rescheduled to leave at 4.55pm. On the same day, train 12522 Ernakulam Junction to Barauni Superfast Express scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 3.33pm is rescheduled to leave at 5.03pm. Similarly, train 16860 Mangaluru to Chennai Egmore scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 3.40pm is rescheduled to leave at 4.50pm. Train 17229 Thiruvanthapuram - Hyderabad Sabari Express scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 4.35pm is rescheduled to leave at 5.10pm. Train 66608 Palakkad Town- Erode Passenger is regulated for 35 minutes at Vanjipalaiayam.
On July 14, train 13352 Alappuzha- Tata/Dhanbad Express scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 12pm is rescheduled to leave at 1pm. Train 12678 Ernakulam- KSR Bengaluru Express scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 12.50pm is rescheduled to leave at 1.20pm.
Train 12676 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Kovai scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 2.55pm is rescheduled to leave at 4.05pm. Train 12244 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Shatabdi Express scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 3.25pm is rescheduled to leave only at 4.45pm.
Train 12677 KSR Bengaluru – Ernakulam Jn Express will be regulated at Omalur for 15 minutes, Salem for 30 minutes, Sankari Durg for 15 minutes and Erode Junction for 40 minutes.
Train 12675 Chennai Central Coimbatore Kovai Express will be regulated for 30 minutes at Jolarpettai, 10 minutes at Morappur, 30 minutes at Salem and 20 minutes at Erode Junction.
Train 12243 Chennai Central Coimbatore Shatabdi Express will be regulated for 30 minutes at Jolarpettai, 10 minutes at Morappur, 20 minutes at Salem and 20 minutes at Erode Junction.
