In a bid to offer a conductive business climate and facilitate the relocation of industrial units from residential areas in the state, Haryana Government has decided to get a survey conducted for GIS mapping of all industrial units.

For this, the State Government will hire a private agency, which will conduct survey to collect information of all possible industrial units, their location, registration number, unit type among other details.

As per the Industries Associations in Haryana, there are a large number of industries which are located in the non-confirming zones in the state. The state Industries Department has received several representations from various industrial associations for regularization or relocation of industries in residential zones.

Following this, the State Government has identified the cities such as Faridabad, Panipat, Jagadhri and Rohtak which has large concentration of industries in the non-confirming zones.

“The survey for GIS mapping of industrial units will be conducted in two phases. With this survey, the government will be able to create a comprehensive industrial database of each district of Haryana,” said a senior officer of the Haryana Government.

“For the first phase, the State Government has identified the cities such as Faridabad, Panipat, Jagadhri and Rohtak which has large concentration of industries in the non-confirming zones.  During the survey, non-conforming industrial units will be identified and then will be covered under the State Government’s relocation policy for shifting of industrial units notified in 2016,” he said.

In second phase, the industrial survey will be conducted in all remaining districts for updating the industrial database. All industrial establishments (large, medium, small and micro) will be covered under the survey, the officer added.

As per the State Government’s relocation policy for industrial units, the polluting industries based on the categorization, will be facilitated for shifting/relocation to the confirming areas. In case of shortfall of the industrial zone space, additional zones shall be identified and notified by the Department of Town & Country Planning and Urban Local Bodies, in consultation with the Industries Department.

The State Government had also notified Enterprise Promotion Policy 2015 for development of MSMEs. As per government’s database upto 2015, there are more than 1600 large and medium enterprises and more than 14000 micro, small and medium enterprises in the state.
