Despite several odds Jharkhand seem to be treading well on the path of development. The State that had secured seventh rank in the annual ‘Ease of doing business’ report prepared by World Bank and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion in 2017, has grabbed fourth position in the report unveiled on Tuesday.

According to the report Andhra Pradesh has secured top position, while Telangana and Haryana have secured second and third ranks respectively. Jharkhand got fourth rank followed by Gujarat (5), Chhattisgarh (6), Madhya Pradesh (7), Karnataka (8), Rajasthan (9) and West Bengal (10).

Chief Minister Raghubar Das expressed happiness over the report saying that State has again made history by making it to fourth place in the rankings.  “This was possible only because of investment friendly policies of the State. I congratulate the 3.25 crore people of Jharkhand,” he tweeted.

Das further informed through another tweet that the State has secured top position in the Reform Evidence Scorecard, while in the Feedback Scorecard it is on the fifth position. Thanking the people of the State he said that the goal of the government was to weave a net of industries in the State and generate employments for the people so that poverty can be eradicated from Jharkhand.

The DIPP in collaboration with the World Bank conducts an annual reform exercise for all States/UTs under the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP).
