UP Power workers threaten to launch stir if demands not fulfilled

UP Power Corporation employees have threatened to launch a stir if their long standing demands were not accepted by the State Government and power utilities. Their major demands include the removal of pay anomalies and restoration of old pension system for employees recruited after year 2000 and appointment of regular employees against all vacant posts. The Power Employee’s Joint Action Committee that met in Lucknow on Tuesday demanded that contractual employees be given priority in appointment against vacant posts.
