Cabinet okays funds for houses for Ismalnagar displaced

Already sanctioned with Rs 33.04 crore for building dwellings to resettle displaced of Islamnagar the Government on Tuesday amended the sharing pattern of the project. As per the changes the State Government would pay share of the beneficiaries from it own fund.

Informing about the decision taken by the Cabinet, Principal Secretary SKG Rahate said that it would not affect the share of the Center. “Total estimate for building 444 houses for the displaced of Islamnagar is Rs 330411800 and consent for that has already been granted. Today the Cabinet approved amendments done into the sharing pattern. The Center would like before bear Rs 6.66 crore whereas the State against earlier Rs 24.16 crore would now bear another Rs 2.22 crore or Rs 50000 for each of the houses which was to be paid by the individual beneficiary,” said Rahate.   

Besides, the Cabinet decided to release Rs 750 crore to the Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited for paying dues of the discom with power producer Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The payment would be done as one time grant against the budgetary provisions done.

Also, rules of Jharkhand Treasury Act have been relaxed permitting Jharkhand Milk Federation to transfer Rs 700 crore from its PL account to saving account. The money would be used to build new dairy at Palamu district. Rahate said that money for the project could be deposited into the saving account of the Federation in future as well. The Cabinet also amended rules for appointment of sub-inspectors. 25 per cent seats for the limited departmental appointments would be filled with promotion. 

The Cabinet also approved a Bill to be presented before the Assembly for amending Jharkhand Motor vehicle tax rules in order to match the rules in place in other neighbouring States for operating sleeper buses. “This will make bus operators from Jharkhand competitive with Chhattisgarh, Bihar and others connected with Jharkhand through inter-state routes,” added the official. Minor changes into names and guidelines for umbrella schemes under ICDS have also been approved. 

The Cabinet in another decision provided 14.53 acre of GM land at Gamharia of Saraikela-Kharsawan against the payment of Rs 12.17 crore to Arka Educational and Cultural Trust on lease. The lease would for 30 years for commercial uses.
