HYDERABAD:
Telangana minister of municipal administration and urban development,
KT Rama Rao along with state forest and environment minister Jogu Ramanna inaugurated the freshly developed recreational facilities at the
botanical garden in Kothaguda here on Wednesday.
Appreciating the efforts of
Telangana State Forest Department (TSFD) for renovating the botanical garden within a short span of one year, minister KTR said the Telangana government was committed towards forest conservation and increasing green cover in Hyderabad.
“Increasing the green cover in Hyderabad and the entire state has always been a priority for the Telangana government,” Rao said.
Speaking at the inaugural event, Rao said that over 100 lung spaces were being created around the city out of which nearly ten were already completed. The minister informed that environmental activities are being taken up keeping in view the future of next generations.
The new attractions at the botanical park include Nakshatra Vanam, Rasi Vanam and Navagraha Vanam with a beautiful, systematic and scientific pattern, and display boards.
Rao also assured a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for wastewater treatment and unlimited supply of water to maintain the landscape of the park.
