A Ugandan mother says a children’s home tricked her into giving her son up for zero-contact adoption.
She said that when she went to the babies home to check on her baby, she was told that she had no right to contact her baby’s adoptive parent.
She added that the children's home also told her that she had no right to know how her child was doing, or even hear from those who were now raising him.
The unnamed Ugandan mother said she was very desperate when she gave up her son.
She said she was introduced to the adoption agency by a neighbour.
Ugandan authorities have ordered over 500 children homes to close due to lack of certification.
