Over 104 autorickshaws with public announcement systems, to spread awareness about vector-borne diseases and measures for prevention, were flagged off by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor on Tuesday.
According to a release by the corporation, one auto will be employed in each ward. An advisory has also been issued for schoolchildren as they have been identified as a particularly vulnerable group.
The Mayor said that the message should be read out during morning assemblies in the school without fail. The release also said that schools must appoint one nodal teacher to coordinate with field staffs and keep the school free from mosquito breeding. According to a recent corporation report, there have been 106 cases of vector-borne disease.
