PARIS: French state-controlled utility EDF's nuclear power generation in France soared 6.3 per cent year-on-year in June to 28.6 terrawatt-hour (TWh) due to a lower volume of planned outages, the utility said on Wednesday.EDF, which operates France's 58 nuclear reactors, said cumulative nuclear power output was at 202.6 TWh since the beginning of the year, up 5.4 TWh, or 2.7 per cent compared with same period last year.
Nuclear power generation accounts for over 75 per cent of France's electricity needs.
