P’put DAV students plant saplings

In order to spread the message of save trees and save environment, the students of Standard-I and Standard-II of the DAV Public School, Pokhariput here under the guidance of their teachers and direct supervision of their supervisor, enacted a play Chipko Movement, and took out a rally on the streets of Pokhariput.

The children with a beautiful presentation style staged the show.

Chipko Movement, also popularly called Chipko Andolan’’ in Hindi is a socio-ecological movement started by rural villagers, especially women in the 1970s.

The little children also planted saplings in their school premises and took a green oath. On the occasion, Principal Dr Sujata appreciated the efforts of the tiny-tots in spreading the message, ‘Each One, Plant One.’
