Hyderabad High Court to hear PIL on misusing public funds

HYDERABAD:A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court will hear on Tuesday a taken up PIL case seeking stern action against the government authorities concerned for alleged misappropriation of public money to the tune of Rs 70 lakh under Mission Kakatiya programme for the ‘same’ work which were already completed under the MGNREGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme).

The taken up PIL was based on a letter addressed to the Chief Justice by Kannuri Karnakar, of Peddapally district, stating that in the name of developmental activities under Mission Kakatiya programme, the authorities of district irrigation department in collusion with the contractors claimed `70 lakhs for the work already done in the three tanks - Vura Cheruvu, Titturla Kunta tank and Rajapur Vura Cheruvu situated at Ramaiahpalli and Rajapur village under MGNREGS in the year 2015.
