51-day theatre workshop: Youngsters learn acting skills

To learn about music in theatres and brush the theatrical skills, the youngsters are trying hard to get acquainted with this art more perfectly.

A 51-day theatre workshop is being organised for the youngsters who want to create a niche for themselves in theatre industry or to learn the skills of stage performance or to even brush up their theatrical skills.

The workshop is being organised by the Hum Theatre Group Bhopal at Patrakar Bhavan. The ongoing workshop began here from Tuesday. Basically this workshop is based on music, acting and other theatre aspects.

During the 51-day workshop the aspirants will be taught about the importance of physical appearance, music and acting in theatre.

It is being conducted by three experts. Anil Ansare is training the participants in physical exercise, Ravi Arjun is informing them about music in theatres and Sadaat Bharti explains them about theatre through various activities and games.

On the other hand, various tehatre experts and veteran theatre playwrights like Sanjay Upadhyay and Rajeev Verma will also interact with the theatre aspirants. They will explain the aspirants not only about music, but also the time management and also about the dialogue delivery during a play.

The students are being trained to improvise the sense of acting, gestures, expressions and emotions. Balendra Singh, a renowned theatre actor and director is conducting the workshop. He said that students are being taught basic acting exercises to strengthen their acting foundation. This training programme   further aims to free students from self consciousness and strengthen their concentration through sensory exercises.

Around 25 students have participated in the workshop. Also it is a production based workshop and a play is being prepared which will be staged to mark the conclusion of the workshop.
