MUMBAI: Two men died and three sustained injuries when the car in which they were travelling fell off the Charoti bridge on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway at Kasa in
Palghar district on Tuesday.
The Kasa police said that the white-colour car was headed from
Vapi in Gujarat to Nalasopara.
At around 6pm, when the car reached the Charoti bridge, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car jumped off the bridge and landed on the ground.
Rohit Dubey from Bhayander, who was driving the car and Omprakash Dubey, a Santacruz resident, who was on the seat besides the driver, died on the spot.
The three men - Sunil Pandey from Bhayander, Dayashankar Sheth and Sandeep Upadhyay, both from Nalasopara, seated on the rear seats sustained serious injuries. They are being treated in a local hospital.
