HYDERABAD:Lasya and Harshitha won the hearts of Telugu audiences and not without a reason. First with their performances in the reality talent show Drama Juniors and now as two protagonists in Ganga Manga (Zee Telugu, weekdays, 6.30 pm)
Passion towards drama, acting and dance made Lasya the runner-up of Drama Juniors season -1 and Harshitha the winner of Drama Juniors season – 2. Lasya and Harshitha, 9 and 11 years respectively, have proven that age and experience do not hinder performance. The two kids say they have literally grown up on Zee Telugu and their audiences have seen their hardwork and talent on the silver screen.
Lasya is in Class V in NSM Public School, Vijayawada, and Harshitha is in Class VII in Narayana School, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad. Speaking to City Express, Harshitha says, “It is like another world for me, when I come back from shooting in Hyderabad to Vijayawada. It’s difficult to juggle both, but I love what I am doing.”
After Drama Juniors both are busy acting in the TV serial Ganga- Manga. Lasya plays Ganga, an intelligent girl from a rich educated family, while Harshitha plays Manga, a mischievous girl from a tribal family. Both get swapped at the time of birth. Their upbringing, their talent and their subsequent lives show a mirror to the classism existing in the society while highlighting how children are influenced by the prejudices of their parents.Vasudev and Preethi from Rama Seetha play other key roles in the daily serial.
