The US strongly supports breastfeeding but it also believes that women should not be denied access to infant formula for their children, President Donald Trump said today.
Trump's tweet came after the New York Times published a news story according to which the US upended a UN-affiliated World Health Assembly resolution that encouraged breast-feeding.
The report by prominent American daily claimed that by taking such a stand the Trump administration embraced the interests of infant formula manufacturers. Trump slammed the newspaper for this story.
