Keonjhar District Collector Ashish Thakre held a public grievances meeting at the Joda block office on Monday with a total of 46 grievances being heard.

In most cases, the Collector tried to solve the problem on the spot, but there were allegation of delay by the Joda BDO to make payment of bills for contract work, complaint against the Joda veterinary doctor Dr Madhab Chowdhury and allegation against the Essar company for failure in rehabilitating the land losers. So, the cases were kept pending.

The Collector said appropriate action would be taken in these cases after making inquiry into the allegations.

The complainants against the Joda BDO said they had come to meet the Collector directly, but he was misguided by the block staffs who were numbering the applications and sent them to the DRDA PD instead of the Collector.

The Essar land losers complained that previously they had approached the Collector on a number of occasions also.

Others who were present included district SP JN Pankaj, Sub-Collector Parul Patwari, Champua DRDA PD Nrusingh Charan Swain and the CDMO.
