Looking to buy a Honda? Well then, hurry up because the Japanese carmaker has announced a price revision, and it's not one you would like. Prices for all Honda cars will go up by Rs 10,000 to Rs 35,000, with effect from 1 August 2018. The reason quoted for this hike is "the increasing pressure on input costs, the impact of customs duty hike over past few months and higher freight rates." This price hike will also be imposed on the recently launched Honda Amaze, which is currently being sold at an introductory price of Rs 5.59 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Honda's current lineup of cars includes the Brio, Jazz, Amaze, City, WR-V, BR-V and CR-V, all of which are manufactured in India. The Accord Hybrid is being sold as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) and is imported from Thailand. Model-wise price hikes will be updated soon and we will communicate it to you via this space, so stay tuned. Or rather, go buy yourself a Honda. Here is what the press release had to say.
