NEW DELHI: A man driving a Hyundai Creta on
Naraina flyover on Tuesday tried to get past a police checkpost and in the process rammed into it.
In order to
stop the vehicle, a traffic police constable clung onto its bonnet to force the driver to stop. While the man kept driving, AAP
MLA Jarnail Singh who was passing by chased the vehicle and forced it to stop. In a video shot by an associate of the MLA, the man is seen stepping out of the vehicle and trying to reason out.
A woman travelling with the man is heard abusing the MLA and the cops for flagging them down. Police said that the man was found travelling without proper documents and was arrested.
In the video footage, the MLA is seen asking the cops to remove the keys of the car first before the man tries to flee. The incident happened around 5.30pm when Singh was returning from work. The accused is a resident of Naraina.
