Mumbai: With heavy rains lashing Mumbai over last two days, a 52-year-old man is feared drowned in the waters. He had gone to Vihar Lake for fun outing on his birthday with his friends. According to Mumbai Mirror, the search operation is on but haven’t yielded any results.
The 52-year-old man was identified as Sambhaji Kuley, a resident of Powai. Kuley, who works in a biscuit company, visited the lake on Sunday with two of his friends. His friends claimed that they didn’t see him venture into the lake, but he did go into the bushes along the banks at Bangurda Talao and could have slipped into the waterbody.
Kuley’s son told the leading daily, “I got a call from the police at around 6 pm on Sunday, asking me to reach the lake. After going to the spot, I learned that two of my father’s friends, who were with him, had informed the police that he went missing after going into the bushes. The fire brigade could not find him. There are crocodiles in the lake. The police should speed up the search operation.” The police since Sunday have been conducting search operations.
