NEW DELHI: Samsung’s Noida mobile phone plant, the world’s largest mobile manufacturing factory that was inaugurated by PM
Narendra Modi and South Korean President
Moon Jae-in on Monday, will start production of high-end Galaxy Note 9 from the end of this month.
A senior official of the company said the new-generation device will also see manufacturing in India as it gets introduced globally. “The Noida facility is producing all high-end
Samsung models. The production of Galaxy Note-9 will start from July-end and the device will likely hit the domestic market by August-end,” the official added.
The official said, “Before the expansion, the company was exporting 10% of the production output (around 5 million units per month). The export of cellphones to Russia, Dubai, eastern European countries and Africa will certainly increase after the plant expansion (7 million units per month). The company is targeting to increase the export to 30% by 2020.”
Note 9 is expected to be powered by 1.8 GHz octa-core processor and on board storage of 64 GB with the option of expandable memory by up to 2 TB. It is likely to have a 6.0" inch display and be powered by a 4000mAh battery. It is also likely to have a fingerprint sensor and graphical performance that can make games run smoothly.
