IIT Alumni Meet at IIM Ranchi

IIT Alumni Association Ranchi (A Pan IIT Alumni Association of Ranchi Based IITians) held their Executive committee meeting on July 7 along with Alumni members at IIM Ranchi in presence of Professor Shailendra Singh, Director IIM Ranchi welcomed Atul Bhatt CMD MECON, President, IIT Alumni Ranchi, Sidharth Chakravarty, Vice President, Anil Kumar Choudhary, General Secretary. IIT Alumni Ranchi and R H Juneja, Director (Finance) MECON. The meeting deliberated on expanding reach of IIT Alumni Ranchi with participation on social, Technological and Managerial issues touching to lives of one and all. Energy efficiency awareness campaign and sustainability was also deliberated upon.

Tarun Daga appointed ED of JUSCO

Tarun Daga, has been appointed as an executive director of JUSCO, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Steel, with effect from July 10, 2018. This decision was taken at the JUSCO board meeting held on July 9 at JUSCO Board Room. Tarun Daga presently is the managing director of The Tinplate Company of India Ltd. He has also served as the chairman of CII Jharkhand State Council. Daga has been working with the Tata Steel group for close to 25 years. He is an alumnus of the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, and the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. Presently, he also holds the following positions: Member of the Governing Body of the Indian Institute of Packaging and Chairman of the Kolkata branch of the Indian Institute of Packaging and Chairman of the Tinplate Group of the International Tin Research Institute, UK.

Kairali shines in swimming, shooting

The students of Kairali School shined in inter school swimming and shooting competition organised at Sapphire International School recently. Vibhaswaan, a student of class 9thwon gold medal in shooting competition. Deep Bose won bronze medal in swimming. He exhibited his swimming capabilities in events such as 50 metre back stroke, 50 metre free style and 50 metre breast stroke. Besides this Apurv Kumar Tiwary bagged gold medal in 50 metre free style and 25 metre free style events. On this occasion the principal of the school, Jacob C J congratulated the students and also the sports teachers Virendra Prasad, Neelam Bakhla and Rajesh Choudhary who guided the students.

ABVP felicitation ceremony

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad today organised felicitation ceremony at the central library auditorium in Morhabadi.Trophies and certificates were awarded to 101 students who scored outstanding marks in 10th and 12th board exams. Pragati Dubey who stood third in yoga competition organised by Government of Jharkhand was also felicitated with shield and shawl on the occasion. Deputy mayor Sanjeev Vijaywargiya was the chief guest for the occasion. In his address to the students he congratulated them and also motivated the students for their bright future. He also mentioned that today ABVP is the voice of the youth and it epitomises youth empowerment. Around 200 ABVP members were present at the event.

TVS Motors announces ‘Kargil Calling’

TVS Motor Company, a reputed manufacturer of two-wheelers and three-wheelers, announced a new initiative titled, ‘Kargil Calling – Ride for the Real Stars’ to celebrate the contribution of the Indian Defence forces. As a part of their ‘Stars behind the Stars’ campaign, TVS StaR City+ has focused on celebrating the real stars of India by highlighting the stories of their contribution to the society. These people are enablers of big achievements but do not seek limelight for themselves. ‘Kargil Calling – Ride for the Real Stars’ is the latest initiative in the series for the real stars, i.e. the Indian Defence forces.
