The High Court of Uttarakhand has quashed the Government order dated October 2015 regarding fee hike for the students of Ayurvedic medical college. Further, the High Court has also directed that the students who had paid higher fee as per the said order should be reimbursed the additional amount. According to the case details, students of the Ayurvedic medical college had filed a petition in the High Court stating that they were students of batches from 2013 to 2016. However, in October 2015, the State Government, without recommendation of the committee for fee fixation, had increased the fee from Rs 80,000 to Rs 2.15 lakh. Stating that this was against the rules, the petitioners had sought relief from the court.

Hearing on the petition, the single bench of justice Sudhanshu Dhulia quashed the Government order along with the related order of the university.
