The Andhra Pradesh government has set a target of developing and promoting business leadership in the State, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu said.
The State has abundant human resources and cooperation from Singapore would help it achieve its objectives and vision, he said.
Mr. Naidu, interacting with Singapore Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat at Singapore on Tuesday, outlined the priorities and strengths of the State. Mr. Naidu urged him to suggest Singapore firms to extend financial assistance at the lowest rate of interest. Also, the Singapore firms can be partners in businesses in A.P., he said.
Stating that he was impressed with skill and efficiency in every sector in Singapore, Mr. Naidu said that the government was working with an objective to improving civic services and transparency in governance. While Singapore has great financial strengths, A.P. has skilled manpower. The State was ready to associate with Singapore in the skill development initiative, he said.
‘Leading from the front’
Drawing a parallel between Singapore first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and Mr. Naidu, the Singapore Finance Minister said that both of them set huge targets and toil hard to achieve the same. Their dedication and hard work proved to be blessings to their respective motherlands.
“I will do my best in ensuring that Singapore banks and financial institutions offer attractive financial assistance to A.P.,” he said.
Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana were among those present.
The three-day visit of Mr. Naidu helped in branding Amaravati capital at the World Cities Summit and attracting companies to invest in the city. World technology giants evinced interest in entering into tie-ups with Andhra Pradesh and setting up their units.
