Mysuru: Senior BJP leader and MLA B
Sriramulu on Monday predicted that the Congress-JD(S) alliance in the state would not last beyond the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Sriramululu, who met the seer Arjun Guruji Avadootha in KR Mohalla, charged chief minister
HD Kumaraswamy with having stitched an ‘illegal alliance’ with the
Congress only to keep BJP out of power. Dubbing Kumaraswamy a ‘Vachana Brashta (someone who reneges on his promise)’, Sriramulu said, “The CM has failed to waive off all the farm loans.”
Pointing out that the people had made their wish clear, by voting for BJP in 104 seats, Sriramulu said, “This alliance will not last long because both the parties have come together only for power.”
Kumaraswamy also came in for much censure for what Sriramulu dubbed ‘neglect’ of coastal districts in his budget. “The BJP is strong in the coastal districts, and Kumaraswamy has deliberately refused to roll out programmes for these places. The budget is only for Hassan, Mandya and Ramanagara districts. This budget has instigated the demand for a separate North Karnataka state,” he said.
On the tie-up between the Congress and the JD(S) for the 2019 general elections, Sriramulu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s charisma would conquer all. “BJP will win majority of Lok Sabha seats in the state in next year’s elections. The coalition government has failed to keep its promise in its very first budget, and has lost the confidence of the people,” said Sriramulu.
BJP’s Mysuru district president BH Manjunath, vice-president Jogi Manju, secretary NN Satish, the and party’s slum morcha president Brahmachar were among those present.
