Delta makes economy seats larger, adds ‘suite seating’

Delta Airlines has introduced its freshly furnished Boeing 777-200s featuring fewer economy class seats per row with an aim to maintain a decent amount of elbow room.

Delta has started keeping economy seats at nine-across rather than the 10-across that have become the norm for 777s on other airlines.

Consequently these airplanes would have the widest regular economy seats in the businesses along with few other airlines that keep their economy seats nine-across. Delta’s 777 economy seats would be 18.5 inches wide as compared to the 17-inch width seats on American and United’s 777’s.

Furthermore the new airplanes would also have Delta’s new business class ‘suite’ seating alongside a brand new premium economy cabin known as ‘Premium Select’.

Delta expects to have the refurbishment rolled out by the end of 2019.

Passengers looking forward to the new premium economy for Delta would be able to find it on all 350s and on a rising number of 777s.
